Nigel Tillott - Director
As Head of Davies and Partners’ Employment and Regulatory Departments, Nigel uses his extensive experience to advise businesses and individuals on all aspects of employment and regulatory law.
He has considerable expertise in advising employers how to avoid employment difficulties and also representing parties in Employment Tribunals. He also advises employees in workplace issues, including in relation to Settlement Agreements.
In the regulatory field, Nigel has extensive knowledge of the GDPRs. He also has significant expertise in advising those involved in direct marketing. He has also represented individuals in appearances before their professional bodies.
Nigel is also a highly experienced mediator and he has mediated on a wide range of commercial disputes and also domestic disputes, such as those between neighbours. He also conducts many workplace and employment mediations.
Nigel works closely with clients and is often regarded as “part of their team”. He seeks to respond efficiently and practically to their needs. Recognising the many challenges that the law can create, he seeks to find practical and “can do” solutions for his clients.
He works for businesses and organisations of all descriptions from high profile PLCs to micro-companies and he will seek to tailor his advice to the specific nature of the business concerned. Nigel also undertakes work for a wide variety of individuals in an organisation; from senior executives through to more junior employees.
Nigel’s work involves dealing with businesses of all sizes, on a day-to-day basis with the aim of avoiding employment disputes. He has also represented employers of all sizes, in Tribunal claims as well as appearing on behalf of employees, more particularly for senior executives and claiming discrimination using the Employment Tribunal system.
On the regulatory side, Nigel has advised both nationally and locally based businesses and organisations in relation to the implementation of the GDPRs. He has represented organisations in a wide range of disputes with regulators, including an appearance at the European Court of Justice.
Nigel offers practical, down to earth advice which is straightforward to understand and apply. He seeks to provide clear answers to his clients’ questions and finds effective solutions to their legal challenges.
Angela West - Senior Associate
Angela heads up the Bristol Office Employment Department and has over 20 years’ experience within the legal profession, with an expertise in Employment law.
Angela prides herself on getting to know clients, so she truly understands their unique business needs and their particular employment requirements. She provides practical, focused and no nonsense advice.
Angela acts for SMEs, national and international companies, undertaking all aspects of employment work, both contentious and non-contentious. She has also acted for charities and various institutions within the education sector.
She also represents individuals and has acted for various high-profile clients such as doctors, consultants, QC’s and senior executives.
Examples of Angela’s recent cases include:
- Representing a Senior Barrister in an employment litigation claim
- Representing an international company at a 10-day Employment Tribunal hearing
- Acting for numerous senior executives and securing high-value settlements
- Representing a whistle-blower employee which resulted in a 22-day contested Tribunal hearing.

Gareth Price - Associate Solicitor
Gareth is an Associate Solicitor within the Employment Department. He has built up a wealth of experience and expertise having advised in all aspects of Employment Law for many years.
Practical and approachable, Gareth takes time to understand his clients’ needs, carefully analysing the issues and providing a cost-effective, commercially sound resolution.
Gareth advises a cross-section of both employers and employees in relation to the wide spectrum of employment related topics and procedures and processes, guiding and supporting his clients through the minefield of complex legislation governing UK employment law.
Highly experienced in all areas of employment law; Gareth has particular skill and expertise in unfair dismissal and discrimination claims; acting for both employees and employers in Employment Tribunal cases across the country.

Richard Harwood - Paralegal
Richard is based in our London office and has over 20 years’ experience in dealing with employment matters for both employers and employees.
His practice deals with contentious and non-contentious matters for a wide range of clients with differing businesses with a focused outcome based approach to employment issues. Richard is available to advise at an early stage where an employer recognises a potential difficulty through to a Tribunal hearing should that become necessary.
On the non-contentious side Richard is able to draft policies and contracts of employment to meet the specific needs of your business.
Richard also acts for employees with a wide range of claims ranging from unfair dismissal to discrimination to pensions.

Matthew Verrier - Solicitor
Approachable and proactive, Matt is able to cut through legal jargon to provide practical advice to his clients in a sensible, straightforward manner.
Matt has experience working with a wide range of clients, acting for individuals and businesses in industries varying from the care sector and education to insurance companies and property developers.
