After more than 30 years’ service with Davies and Partners, employment law specialist Nigel Tillott is stepping back from his current roles as Head of the Employment Department and of the Firm’s Gloucester Office, to take on a new role in January as Consultant Solicitor.
Legal Director Angela West is taking over as Head of the Employment Law Department and Director’s Kirsten Compton and Tom Lowe will jointly run the Gloucester Office from January.
In his new role Nigel will focus on the provision of advice and support to longstanding clients and focus on particular areas of passion, such as mediation. Nigel is a highly experienced mediator covering a wide range of commercial disputes and also conducts many workplace and employment mediations. He will also be providing training to others in workplace and employment mediation and in relation to the employment field, especially surrounding avoiding employment claims.
Nigel’s new role will also provide more personal time, in which he hopes to continue to follow his favourite pursuit of trail running. This year Nigel celebrated the incredible achievement of completing his 60th Marathon and he is aiming to continue his quest to run 100 Marathons in his lifetime. He is also hoping to revive his participation in other sports by taking up walking football and improving his swimming.
Nigel is also looking to spend more quality time with friends and family, especially where it be can combined with some hill walking with his dog!
Commenting Nigel said. “A few things have happened in my life in recent years which have made me appreciate that I am not getting any younger. There are still significant aspects of my work which I very much enjoy, including the relationships I have made with clients, and I am not ready to give those up just yet.”
“I am lucky though to have a talented team around me, who are more than ready to step up and take the reins on the leadership roles which I have held and ensure that client needs are fully met.”
He continued, “I have found in recent years, that I particularly enjoy sharing the experience and knowledge I have acquired over the years and I aim to continue to do this not only within the workplace , but also in areas outside of work. “
“This is a new adventure, and I am both excited and a little scared at the same time!”
